Average cost of interior finishing in 2024
Two years ago, I published an article addressing the ambiguities related to averaging the cost per square meter of apartment finishes. It was met with enthusiastic reception. Many of our clients emphasized how valuable this knowledge proved to be when making investment decisions regarding their properties.
The motivation for writing this analysis, which I am preparing in mid-2024, is somewhat different. Recently, we have observed a stabilization in the prices of building materials in the Polish market. This represents a positive change following the uncertain year of 2023, marked by dynamic and unpredictable price fluctuations. It is now, with the situation having calmed down, that I want to share current data to enable our clients to make informed decisions about investing in the finishing of their apartments and houses.
My goal is to present reliable data, free from speculation, which is crucial for those interested in investing in interior finishing. Therefore, I am publishing summaries of the cost estimates for five recently completed projects that have just been handed over for execution.
It is important to remember that every investment is unique, and clients' expectations regarding the scope and standards of finishing can vary. Our company dedicates a lot of time to individual consultations to tailor the cost estimate to the specific needs and expectations of our clients.
76 m2 Apartment, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 3260 zł/m2
The project covered all rooms, with the following finishing scope:
Basic Finishing:
- Flooring: glued vinyl panels
- Baseboards: polyurethane, painted to match the walls
- Walls: painted with Flugger paints, polyurethane moldings
- Bathrooms: porcelain tiles on the floor, glazed ceramic tiles on the walls
- Concealed fittings: Omnires / Grohe Chrome
- Ceramics: Omnires, Koło
Furniture, Accessories, Appliances:
- installation of appliances
- movable furniture: sofa, armchair, table, 6 chairs, bed, nightstands, work desk, guest sofa, work chair, bookshelf, 3 dressers
Built-in Furniture:
- Fronts: lacquered, milled
- Countertops in kitchen and bathroom: conglomerate
General Construction Works:
- smoothing of all walls and ceilings
- additional electrical circuits, lighting points, and sockets

Apartment 94 m², 4 rooms, combined two bathrooms, 2740 PLN/m²
The project covered all rooms except two bedrooms, with the following finishing scope:
Basic Finishing:
- Floors: lacquered layered board, veneer thickness 4mm, board size 14x50x540mm
- Baseboards: polyurethane, painted to match the walls
- Walls: smoothing + painted with Flugger paints
- Bathrooms: porcelain tiles on the floor, glazed ceramic tiles on the walls
- Fittings: concealed, Omnires / Grohe, chrome
- Ceramics: Omnires / Koło
Furniture, Accessories, Appliances:
- installation of appliances
Built-in Furniture:
- Fronts: lacquered in the kitchen, laminated in the bedrooms and wardrobe
- Countertops: conglomerate in kitchen and bathroom
General Construction Works:

Renovation of a 59 m² apartment in a "large panel" building, 3 rooms, 2 bathrooms, 5096 PLN/m²
The project covered all rooms, with the following finishing scope:
Basic Finishing:
- Floors: glued vinyl panels
- Baseboards: polyurethane, painted to match the walls
- Walls: smoothing + painted with Flugger paints
- Bathrooms: porcelain tiles on the floor and walls
- Fittings: surface-mounted, Omnires / Grohe, chrome
- Ceramics: Omnires / Koło

- Floors: layered board, classic herringbone, veneer thickness 4mm, lacquered, dimensions 120x14x600mm
- Baseboards: polyurethane, painted to match the walls
- Walls: smoothing + painted with Flugger paints
- Bathrooms: porcelain tiles on the floor and walls
- Fittings: surface-mounted, Omnires / Grohe, color
- Ceramics: Omnires / Koło
Furniture, Accessories, Appliances:
- installation of appliances
- custom-made curtains
- classic stairs, steel balustrade per individual project
Built-in Furniture:
- Fronts: lacquered and veneered with solid wood frames in the kitchen, living room, and entrance area; laminated in the bedroom and wardrobes
- Countertops: conglomerate

- rearranging the ground floor area, general construction changes, and electrical and plumbing installations
Two-story house 173 m², 4 rooms, 3 bathrooms, 2697 PLN/m²
The project covered all rooms, with the following finishing scope:
Basic Finishing:
- Floors: glued vinyl panels
- Baseboards: polyurethane, painted to match the walls
- Walls: smoothing + painted with Flugger paints
- Bathrooms: porcelain tiles on the floor and walls
- Fittings: surface-mounted, Omnires / Grohe, color
- Ceramics: Omnires / Koło

In my analysis, I aimed to showcase projects that accurately reflect the average prices we have observed over the past few months across various types of investments.
Of course, we also handle projects costing 9000 PLN/m², but this article is not intended to showcase our price ranges; rather, it aims to present the average cost for comprehensively finishing residential interiors.
Time to provide the average prices based on the last 30 projects:
Average price for finishing apartments (50-110m²): 2700 - 4300 PLN/m²
Average price for thorough apartment renovation: 4000 - 5500 PLN/m²
Average price for finishing houses: 2700 - 4800 PLN/m²
Why am I providing prices per m² even though I always advocate for individual quotes? Because I want to illustrate the situation in the finishing market, and in this case, generalization is justified.
